Progression of Detroit Graffiti

I've been looking through the archives of photos of Detroit graffiti on puregraffiti.com and they have a lot of images from well known Detroit graffiti artists from way back. It's interesting to see the progression of some of the most well respected artists in the city. There's photos from as recent as 2008 from artists that are still active now and the work isn't nearly as complex and skilled as what we're seeing today. The improvement that these guys have made and the level of skill that they're displaying today is something you can witness by flipping through these old photos. In talking with Fel the other day, he said to me that he's always cool with new writers that he meets regardless of skill because you never know who's gonna be crushing it next year. True enough.
