Bobbito Simon came to town to make a feel good story about Detroit. A lot of people have been critical of Simon's report including Dan Gilbert who called it, "ruin porn" stating that the report missed the positive aspect of what's happening here. If anything, it's just another cliched report about Detroit that we've all seen told a million times by out of town news sources. Personally, I think the report did a fine job to give the nation a look the city and its current state. It's the perspective of an outsider coming in to report what it's like to be an insider looking out. Some say Simon failed to lend the proper perspective but perhaps some forgot that perspective is individual and that sometimes insiders adopt an outside perspective. Let's stay positive.
